What is ApiRTC?

ApiRTC is a cloud-based WebRTC PaaS (Platform as a Service) by Apizee. It provides a JavaScript library and REST API that lets developers add real-time video, audio, chat, screen sharing, and file transfer to any web or mobile application in minutes.

Do I need to manage STUN/TURN servers?

No. ApiRTC's cloud infrastructure includes STUN and TURN servers. NAT traversal, firewall traversal, and media relay are handled automatically for you.

Which browsers and platforms are supported?

ApiRTC supports all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Safari, and Samsung Internet. Native SDKs are available for iOS, Android, React Native, Ionic, and Apache Cordova.

How are minutes counted?

Minutes are counted per participant per minute. For example, a 10-minute video call between 2 participants uses 20 minutes from your quota.

Can I try ApiRTC for free?

Yes! The Starter plan is free for 4 months and includes 1,000 minutes/month, 50 simultaneous users, and all core features (video, audio, chat, screen sharing). No credit card required.

Is ApiRTC GDPR / HIPAA compliant?

ApiRTC's infrastructure is hosted in Europe (France). Apizee holds the HDS (Hébergeur de Données de Santé) French healthcare certification for sensitive health data. GDPR compliance is included for all plans.

Can I integrate ApiRTC with my existing CRM or helpdesk?

Yes. ApiRTC provides webhooks and a REST API for integration with third-party platforms including Salesforce, Zendesk, and custom CRMs.

What is the difference between the JS library and the REST API?

The JavaScript library (@apirtc/apirtc-js) runs in the browser and handles real-time media streams. The REST API is used server-side for managing sessions, generating tokens, and accessing usage data.

Does ApiRTC support SIP interoperability?

Yes. ApiRTC includes a VoIP gateway for SIP interoperability, allowing calls between WebRTC clients and traditional telephony infrastructure.

Where can I find documentation and tutorials?

All documentation, quickstart guides, and code samples are available at dev.apirtc.com. You can also follow the WebRTC WildCard Episodes for live coding sessions and community Q&A.
