How to Estimate My Minutes Usage
Understand how ApiRTC counts billable minutes for your sessions
The minutes counted for any ApiRTC session correspond to the time a user participates in a session, regardless of the number of streams subscribed.
When does minute counting start?
A session starts counting from the moment there is a subscribed or published stream present. Participants joining or leaving the session affect the total minutes independently — each participant's time is counted separately.
Rounding policy
ApiRTC rounds usage up to the nearest full minute. For example, a 30-second session counts as 1 minute.
Estimating your monthly usage
To estimate your monthly minutes, use the following formula:
Example: If you have 100 sessions per month, each lasting 20 minutes on average, with 3 participants each:
100 × 20 × 3 = 6,000 minutes/month
Recording
Recording time is not billed as minutes, but recordings consume storage capacity. Make sure to download and delete recordings regularly to avoid extra storage costs.
